The rules of the game are as follows: comment to this post with a list of your characters. Other players will provide constructive criticism and positive feedback. You do the same because community is built on reciprocity, we are told.

While we would prefer everyone be honest and open with each other and we would hope you'd feel safe voicing concerns, anonymous commenting is permitted. However, moderators will be moderating; we don't have any marshmallows, so we don't want flames going on here. Wanking is forbidden. If you don't have anything nice to say, phrase what you do have to say politely.

That said, please don't post here if you don't feel able to handle constructive criticism. A well thought-out, helpful critique can be a wonderful thing and shows that people care. When you're critiquing others, try to be specific about what works and what doesn't, as that can be very useful for pinpointing what a player should keep and what a player should let go.

You have no idea how happy it made me to see this. I'm really enjoying their thread! It's very interesting to see them doubt and wonder and exchange information. And I'm a huge fan of Holmes canon in general so I draw on what resources I can while playing him.

And I would love to, too! Actually me and Dero were going to have them investigating the lock in the onsen open log if Alex wants in?

I think it's so great to hear that... One of the things I love about multi-media canons like Holmes is that there is so much to draw from. I was actually just reading the play "The Final Adventure" today (omg I'm auditioning for Irene and I'm sooo nervous ;;) and found, not only, a lot of characterization choices the playwright used for Irene meshing well with how I play her, but also additional things that I feel would enhance my Irene. Holmes canon is so full and colourful and it's so much fun to draw from other media outside the one that is the character's basis!

And YES, Alex would love to be in on that!

Oh wow, I really hope you get the part! Your Irene is amazing so far, for the record, so I definitely think you have a good shot. But I do have some of the further adventures books and some audios and so on and I've found what I really love is how anyone can expand the canon and toss out their own theories and ideas. It's really exciting. So I like to look around and think about this waaaay too much.

And awesome! I'll try to get that going. I felt so tired today ahh.

THANK YOU!! That means so much to me. :3 And yes, I completely agree... Not long after I started playing Irene I was made aware that there's actually a whole series of books out there based on her, which I still need to get ahold of. I always kind of joke that Irene is as close to an OC as I've ever played just because I've extrapolated so much of her life based on one short story; but that is really one of the most fun things about her for me and one of the things I love about Holmes canon, that it's so accessible in so many ways to people. I really enjoy all of it, especially in RP when people have so many different opinions and ideas about the characters.

And no worries, I will keep an eye out for it! This week has been 12 levels on insane for me so I understand the tiredness. &hearts
