Plot(lessness?)

Hey, guys! Usually we only give updates about plots when actually plots are happening, but we felt we should put out the notice that there will be no plots through September. Why do we feel the need to share this? Because October is going to be plot-heavy, and we intend on making October's plot as involving as possible. This will be the first mandatory plot in over a year, and that plot will be the consequence of actions taken by some characters in the game.

So, this is our early warning of that. If you have things to be done for your character that cannot be interrupted, it may be best to fit that into September so that it doesn't get derailed by this plot. Things will clear up again by November for sure (ie NaNoWriMo) if you want a rough time frame, but the exact length of the plot will in part depend on things that we can't yet tell you about.

Love!

I have a couple of questions. What exactly do you mean by mandatory, and how involved is it? Some of us do have school and other things going on, and with multiple characters, it could be too much.

The last mandatory plot was when all of the characters were forced to stay on the Plane, since the Machine broke down and all the realities blinked out of existence. It was mandatory that the characters were on the Plane; what was not mandatory was what characters chose to do there. For example, since the stars all went out, the characters started stringing up lights with magic and all that, and they worked out warm places to sleep and that sort of thing, but some characters didn't do anything, and muns who were indisposed would contact other players to ask for certain things to be assumed, as is usually done. You can expect a similar sort of set-up for this scenario.

Delicious.

What if a player won't be around for that month?

[personal profile] semantics 2010-09-05 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
My suggestion in that case would be, once you see how it's going, to contact the muns of the characters who would be involved in it and have it assumed what is being done with your characters.

Or you could have them hit by a surprise coconut and go into a coma for the whole plot! Improbable, but not impossible.

More seriously: I can't say too much without spoiling, but given the nature of the plot, there is the potential for good reasons for some characters to go out of action which could add interesting ~*~twists~*~ to the plot. I have an idea for one thing you might choose to do, but I can't actually say anything until closer to the date.

What happens for people whose realities are collapsing that month? XD

...NOOOO PIIIIIIIIII NOOOOOOOOOOOO

I forgot that some people plan further than two weeks ahead. There could be a way to integrate this into things, I think! In a way, it might actually be the ideal time for things to fall apart.

Edited to say: which means that we should probably ask for a sort of outline of what you want to do with the end of her world, and then we would email you back with some suggestions on how it can be woven in a seamless and complimentary way into the plot.
