poshmouthytart, alien_catcher, and I are back from holiday. Minus a certain piece of luggage *coughcoughDeltaAirlinesyousucksomuchcoughcough* AHEM but moving on~
HI BBS. &hearts
We will now return to our regularly scheduled tagging.
I'd fly to Georgia to fetch it for you, but our airspace only opened up last night (or it was supposed to), so I have a feeling there'll be a backlog of tourists to get through first.
I really really hope it actually comes in on the flight it's supposed to today. MY BEST DRESS IS IN THERE. And my shoes. And my souvenirs. B'awwwe.
I actually have a local friend who's been stuck in London all this time! That has to be a pain. So it's okay, I forgive you. ;) Really though, I think I'd rather be stuck in London than have lost my luggage, LOL.
D: I was terrified of that happening when I went to LA. I'd be so worried. Hopefully it does come!
One of my mums friends got stuck in Germany and missed her first three days on a brand new job because of it. I guess it's not too bad if you have money to burn, but otherwise... It sounds like it's been a nightmare! I do like London, though. It's a good place if you have to be stuck somewhere.
I keep staring at the clock, but the flight it's supposed to be on is coming in around 1pm, so it will still be an hour or more until I know for sure. :(
That sucks! That would be my worry, missing work or not having money, but "I'm stranded because a volcano went off" is a pretty top notch excuse, lol. I got stranded in London when I lived out there with no money and ended up sleeping in Gatwick. It was INSANE. But at least, if you have some money, there's hostels and things to do.
It came! \o/ The courier delivered it about 5 last night, and nothing was broken or missing so I was well pleased!
I honestly can't remember how much I paid for the hostel we stayed at in London. I'm pretty sure it was under 20 quid, but I could also be thinking of somewhere else. I clocked a LOT of time at hostels, lol.
In fairness I paid over $20 for a hostel in Santa Monica, which was apparently really steep. The people there were pretty cool though, even if they wound up thinking I was a part of some insane British cult. I guess they weren't far off the mark. XD
Well, Alex said it was pricey. That's the only hostel I've ever tried over there. Although it did have really good security and free wireless.
Idk, this one women saw some of my Doctor Who merchandise and somehow got the idea it was some sort of religion. Then I unintentionally reinforced it when I tried to explain why I didn't want to sell her my Four scarf even though it was being a nightmare to pack.
I would trust Alex on that, because she has so much experience travelling. On the other hand, security and wireless would explain it, since that seems pretty posh for a hostel. But I'm actually glad you spent the extra to stay in a nicer place, anyway, since I know at least hostels around here can get a bit dodgy.
Yeah, that's what I thought. But I'd already paid the deposit and booked it, plus it saved hunting around for a cheaper place. Apart from security and wireless it was pretty much just bog standard. Shit food, shit bed, lockers without the locks (which apparently makes them hard to break into if you bring your own lock).
She was okay besides that! She gave me a $2 Mexican coin, which was really pretty. I gave her my excess tea bags in return.
I had my own lock when I travelled hostels... I don't even know where that thing went. Hm. ANYWAY yeah the food it always shit. But I kinda like the beds, only because the two year old in me has a think for bunk beds. XD
LOL That's good! It's still a pretty amazing story. XD
They were doing SO WELL in my book, until we got stuck on the runway for an hour only to make it back late and have found my luggage was not there. B| Damn airlines, once you get your hopes up that they stopped sucking, they find a way to remind you!
UGH I've had issues with EVERYONE. I have TERRIBLE airline luck. And I had an awful awful experience with Delta and United last year, too, so I'm just.... Grrr. I want to drive everywhere.

...IS there such a thing as too many shrimp?

I DON'T THINK THERE IS. I mean, I ate them every day and they were yummy and I NEVER GOT TIRED OF THEM. Yum, shrimp.

Ha, yeah. That's true. Yeah, even hostels are expensive in London though. Apparently, anyway. I've never actually stopped in one.
