PLOT: spring fling

Spring Fling
Feb 7th - March 1st
It's not all fun and games in paradise.
As it turns out, the Plane's newest babysitter has an odd solution to the problems that crop up with the Machine.
The snow might be gone, but now it's raining in the same strange way-- with rain just materializing several hundred feet in the air, and pounding everything. This rain starts February 7th, and it doesn't stop. That presents a problem. It has nowhere to go, and the entire place will start flooding.
The Plane will be flooded entirely by the dawn of February 13th. At that point, Shaman will try to fix the situation by... making the settlements on the Plane into floating islands. The only way to travel between the bar, the library, the forest and etc. is by boat.
Thankfully, she's provided several kinds of boats. Little rowboats and sailboats, mostly, though you're more than welcome to procure a yacht from home. You can also wage war by hoarding boats if you'd like. Boats can be 'docked' at the doors of buildings by tying them to posts.
You can also try swimming, but the water is weird. It's lukewarm for starters. And it's also full of... glitter? Imagine a Lush store flooding, and that's basically what happened here. Swimming in it won't make you smell nice, but it will make you very sparkly.
Lastly, there is a billboard above the theater advertising swimwear at 25% off (this month only!) in the shop.
Someone else has their hands in this as well, unfortunately. Have you ever heard of death by chocolate? It's about to get real.
There will be chocolate in all the usual places, and some new ones. Not floating in the water-- thank god-- but one might find some in the library, their pockets, or maybe even in the bottom of a boat. They're all wrapped in the same cheery heart-print pink foil. They smell like chocolate, taste like chocolate, and in fact seem harmless at first glance. The flavors can be anything you'd like as long as it's chocolate: peanut butter, mint, white chocolate, dark chocolate, Mexican chocolate, maybe even something strange from your character's world!
If your character is not smart enough to avoid eating strange things, the chocolates have a variety of different effects, up to each player:
☆ heartburn
☆ cravings for something (up to the player, can be food or something more... vicey)
☆ intense infatuation with everyone they meet
☆ sudden death (subject to approval)
☆ no effect, it just tastes like really cheap and crappy Valentines day chocolate from the dollar store
Your character can have more than one chocolate, and yes, that means they can have cravings for french fries while also being very touchy-feely with their friends. You can also repeat the same effects if you'd like, if they really haven't learned their lesson. (Or you were mean enough to give them a chocolate craving.)
The effects of the chocolate will wear off a week after being consumed, but you can continue to eat chocolate and suffer right up until the end of the plot.
On March 1st, the Plane will dry up. A whirlpool will form near the area that the treeless beach was previously. It'll make those horrible clunking noises that your bathtub makes when it drains water but BIGGER AND LOUDER, and then the water will be gone. Boats and people will not be sucked down the drain. The chocolate will either melt or wash away by the time this process is finished.
The advertisement for swimwear will disappear as well.
