PLOT: how to tame your dragon

How to Tame Your Dragon
August 15th - September 15th
While some people have parrots or ponies, we have...
Brightly-colored eggs are appearing all over the Plane. Some of them look like jewels, others glow funny colors, some look like rocks. Some have spots. All of them, however, hide a dark secret. They're dragon eggs.
Whether or not they're nurtured, coming into direct physical contact with one will prompt it to hatch into a baby whelp. How cute!
And dangerous.
Once they hatch, they easily bond to whoever is nearby and giving it any kind of attention whatsoever. Like any unruly baby, they will be hungry, prone to tantrums, incredibly affectionate, and... able to spit small balls of fire. Actually, I don't think babies usually do that last one...
They can also travel between the Plane and a character's world, if they're touching at the moment of travel. And yes, they retain their appearance and powers, so there is a potential for some world-breaking if you want to play with that.
Unlike the dragons in the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, these ones won't get any bigger than a fat housecat. They will remain as tiny, carnivorous pets for as long as you want them. And if you decide you don't want them, they'll fly away by themselves by mid-September, like birds leaving the nest.
After the plot ends, their temperaments will be more solid, and they will be less whiny and clingy and more domesticated.
This plot is optional, but if you'd rather not deal with the dragons at all, your character can just stay home.
The dragon eggs have a chance of being one of the following.
Terrible Terror - About the size of a cat while fully grown. Can breathe small bits of fire. Has a tendency to purr when happy.
Gronckle - A hummingbird-like dragon that eats rocks. Young ones can barf up tiny bits of lava that quickly cool and harden.
Monstrous Nightmare - Generally have bad attitudes. Show them you're boss and they'll still breathe a fireball at your face, but at least they're cute.
Hideous Zippleback - A two-headed dragon that is a bit mischievous in nature. As adults, they breathe gas and light it for optimal explosions, but baby ones can't do more than spit sparks.
Deadly Nadder - Parrot-like dragons that can breathe a little fire. Their tails grow spines that can be flung offensively as well. As babies, though, it'll be like poking a cactus.
