Instead of having a Christmas Plot that ends on the 25th, we are going to do the Twelve Days of Christmas! Or rather, we're going to do the Twelfth Night of Christmas spread out over twelve days. Beginning on the 25th of December and ending on the Twelfth Day, the 5th of January, we're having a Twelfth Night plot! Reversals and chaos are the name of the game.
TWELFTH NIGHT, WHAT?
The Twelfth Night has a lot of significances, but the most important one is this: everything is reversed. Women dress as men, men act as women, servants give order to their masters, and kings are treated like peasants. The profane is exulted and the sacred is played with.
So for
realityshifted, the Twelfth Night (over twelve days) is any variety of upheaval and reversal you like. Do you want to genderswap your character? Go ahead. Do you want to switch their character alignment form Lawful Good to Lawful Evil, from Chaotic Evil to Lawful Good? Have at! If you want to do bodyswaps, you can, and if you want to rewrite their history so that they're Supreme Rulers of the Universe instead of lowly servants or sad slaves instead of Kings on High, then have fun. Do you want your character to suddenly burst into song? 'Tis the season. Do you want your character to transform into an animal? Well, let's hope they don't get taken home. In the name of misrule, everything can be reversed or transformed.
Transformations can last as long or as little of the Twelve Days as you like. Your character can switch alignment for the whole twelve days or for only one or two of them, or they can switch alignment for a few days and then be stuck in a bodyswap for a few of the other days. It's a free-for-all grab bag of a plot; you can do as many reversals and changes as you like for as long as you want. This is, after all, the Lord of Misrule's domain.
